CalSupport 2010 has new 2009 tax tables for calculations run in 2010 and new estimated tax tables for 2011.

All earlier versions are now obsolete! Results calculated by older programs will not be accurate in 2010 and reports generated will not be accepted in court.

Registered users: the latest download will install over the earlier version without disturbing your data. Back up data first to be safe.

Unregistered or past-date registrations: CalSupport Pro will work as a demo until you register. How to register.

Latest Certification Letter. CalSupport PRO is certified by the Judicial Council through March 31, 2010. Per Rule of Court 5.275(j), it must be accepted in all California courts. This letter can be attached to Bench Reports when filed in court. Come back for a current letter shortly before the old one expires. The Judicial Council is often slow, so it might come later. Screen 6 popups at items 2b and 5. Changes to checkboxes in the popups at item 2b (exemptions) and item 5 (FICA) were not being recorded unless a numerical field was also changed. This has been fixed.

Saved files. Due to Windows 7, DealMaker now stores saved files in a different location than before. You can see where they are stored in File > Preferences, if you like, you can choose another location. You'll need to move previously saved data files from the old location (C:\Program Files\CalSupport) to the new location.
Note: If you open a file from the old location, it will be saved back there unless you use Save As to put it in the new location.

Screen 1, Nicknames.For increased customization, nicknames entered on Screen 1 are now used throughout CalSupport, including Bench Reports. This is particularly useful for registered domestic partners.

New tax tables. CalSupport has the latest 2009 tax tables and rules for cases calculated in 2010. Older versions are now obsolete.

Popups fixed. All popups for entering money values would miss the time mode and report incorrect values if CalSuport was set for anything other than Monthly mode. This did NOT affect the calculated results, which were always correct. Only the user interface was incorrect. This has been fixed.

Expert Entry screen. Text in buttons (like "Other Income) failed to update when time mode changed. This has been fixed.

Screen 1, item 7—Who is Petitioner. Drop list incorrectly linked to item 4, Who provided the data. Fixed.

Screen 5, item 5—Shared cost. Drop list would not permit you to select the Proportional option. Fixed.

Screen 2, item 6—Federal benefits for children. A new popup, "Child's Benefits," was added for situations where the noncustodial parent pays child support and the custodial parent receives support for the child(ren) from Social Security, or Veterans Affairs or RailRoad Security Act due to the retirement or disability of the noncustodial parent, in which case that amount must be credited against the amount of child support the noncustodial parent was ordered to pay, unless that amount was already part of the calculation to determine the amount of the support order.

Screen 6, item 1. In the Tax Filing Status drop down list, the selection "MFJ With Party to Case" was not working correctly, did not cause tax data to be added from both sides, thus causing incorrect tax results. This has been fixed.

Expert Entry Tax Filing Status. The Tax Filing Status drop down list on the Expert Entry Screen was not working correctly. Single and HH were fine, but the others were mixed up, so that what was selected on the Expert Screen would be entered incorrectly and show incorrectly on Screen 6. This has been fixed. Other than the MFJ issue above, the Tax Filing Status on Screen 6 worked correctly and could be reliably used to select the tax filing status of the parties.

Fix for rare bug—disappearing program. A few (very few) users, especially on older systems, reported that after startup the program would disappear. We can't duplicate this behavior ourselves, but we've made changes that we hope will fix this problem.

Screen 6 fixed. Fields for lines 2, 2a and 2b were scrambled. They are now showing correctly. Typo in TIPS was fixed.

Screen 7. Updating subtotals fixed so entries made in popups now display immediately.

Icons on case data files. Icon linkage fixed so CalSupport icon now shows on CalSupport data files.

Estimated tax tables. Consumer CalSupport now supports estimated tax tables, but ONLY if using a file you export to them from your PRO software.
