              |  More about Tracker  |  Tracker update notes  |

CalSupport 2008 has new 2007 tax tables for calculations run in 2008.
All earlier versions are now obsolete!
Results calculated by older programs will not be accurate for 2008 and reports generated will not be accepted in court.
Registered users: the latest download will install over the earlier version without disturbing your data. Back up data first to be safe. The new version will be registered if you are current now.

Unregistered or past-date registrations: CalSupport Pro will work as a demo until you register. How to register.

Certification Letter 2008. CalSupport PRO is certified by the Judicial Council through March 1, 2008. Per Rule of Court 5.275(j), it must be accepted in all California courts. This letter can be attached to Bench Reports when filed in court. Come back for a current letter shortly before the old one expires. The Judicial Council is often slow, so it might come later. PRO UPDATE NOTES

New installations. When installed on a machine that had never before had CalSupport on it, the program would put up an incorrect information screen, a minor error that has been fixed.

Minor tweak trying to fix a display flaw reported by the occasional user that we can't duplicate on any or our numerous machines.

Default data path dialog. Located at File > Preferences, click the Data & Sound tab and you'll find the field where you set your preferred location to store files. This feature did not work and has now been fixed.

Entry Menu. Under the Entry Menu, the Expert screen was grayed out and not functioning. You could, of course, get there by clicking on the Expert Screen button in the left column.

Minor graphical glitches. A few of the popup dialogs had text floating up into the pretty header bar. Can't have that, can we? They're fixed now. From 1.0 to present, there has never been any compromise of our reliable computational engine.

New registration method. CalSupport Pro now enables you to register through the program's Help menu, where you can choose to register online immediately, or by phone, fax or mail. Under any of those methods, you receive a code that you enter and you're done.

Registration bug fixed. Yes, we're embarrassed, but in version 1.0 if you attempted to register through the program, PRO would present you with consumer registration screens. Only one line of code entered one morning at 1 or 2 a.m., but oh, what a difference that line made! This has been fixed.

Screen 1. The [Time Chart] button incorrectly pointed to the timeshare help file. This now brings up the Timeshare Chart.

New tax tables. CalSupport Pro has the latest 2007 tax tables and rules for cases calculated in 2008.

Snappy new look. CalSupport Pro has a new interface—hope you like it. The input screens are otherwise more-or-less the same.

Foster children. CalSupport Pro can now calculate support due for children in foster care, including mixed situations with children at home and in foster care. Last we looked, other certified programs couldn't handle that correctly.

Updated help files. CalSupport Pro help files have been updated, improved, and are now compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, and NT.

Estimated tax year. Current Tax Year is the most recent year for which official tax tables have been published and CalSupport selects it by default. However, like the other professional programs, we include an educated guess at the upcoming taxes. Estimated taxes can be selected under the Preferences > Data menu. In 2006, PRO users were not able to select 2007 Est. Taxes because years-old error-checking code peaked out at 2006. This is now fixed. Please remember that the estimated tax year is only an ESTIMATE, so use it with caution if at all.

Allocation of child support. In cases where more than one child has the same timeshare, CalSupport reports allocation. In version 1.4, this got broken, but is now fixed.
